Along with the introduction of the new Audi A5 comes this intriguing website by wearegt. “Rhythm of lines” is a beautiful example of Adobe Flash’s 3D capabilities.

Another rhythm of lines can be found in the selection of the best fonts of 2006 by typographica.

Ok, I’m maybe a little bit late with this post, but the new Apple website definitely deserves a quick note here. The result of the redesign is quite amazing - both from a design and technology perspective. Once again they have managed to set new standards.

The doll - slick and sexy post-production work from the Wyld Stallyons for Lascivious. By the way, team member Chris Hewitt now also works for the motion collective ‘devoid of yesterday‘ which debutes with a brilliant short narrative.

A quite unusual approach to online shopping is 20ltd, a website that specialises in offering exclusive design items which are not available anywhere else. Behind this unique project is a team of former advertising professionals who simply wanted to try something else. The minimalistic site perfectly resembles the classiness of the products. I especially like the menu structure which nicely plays with the number ‘20′. Moreover, we are offered a nice playlist with a selection of not-so-average songs for the not-so-average audience.

The Webby Awards is perhaps the oldest and most prestigious competition honoring excellence on the Internet in over 100+ website categories. This year even an Austrian agency was among the nominees: Wollzelle, the team behind the ‘scriptaculous‘ javascript-framework, developed the new Gucci-website which resulted in a convincingly functional visual design.

Ein Buch über zeitgenössisches Print-Design, das selbst zu einem beispielhaften Vertreter dieses Bereichs gezählt werden kann: ‘Look At This‘ vereint eine Reihe der schönsten Broschüren und Kataloge der letzten Jahre und beschreibt ihre Konzepte und Produktionsweisen. Gestaltet wurde es von dem innovativen und derzeit ziemlich gehypten Studio ‘Non-Format‘, das immer wieder mit ausgefallener Typografie beeindruckt.

Ganz klar: print is not dead! Dies beweist das internationale Magazin-Symposium ‘colophon‘, bei dem sich Verleger, Gestalter und andere Zeitschriften-Liebhaber zusammengefunden haben. Die dazugehörige Website ist ein wahrer Fundus an wertvoller Information und Inspiration und zeigt, dass dieses Medium vielseitiger ist denn je.
